Elevate has officially been shipped to the printer, and we are eagerly awaiting formal publication and release dates.
The process of writing this book – from conceptualization and conversation to collection, collation, curation, and occasional coercion – all the way to copy and layout editing, has been an incredible experience. It has resulted in writing, re-writing, thematic shifting, and an almost continuous interaction with schools and the stories they tell. It’s been at times overwhelming, exciting, exhausting, and invigorating – but what sticks with me most is the profound sense of appreciation for the educators who make the efforts to create meaningful spaces for young people every day.
With each new chapter came an opportunity to take a trip into a world where adults think deeply about creating environments where young people can thrive. And as the chapters assembled so too did the recognition that there are a lot of different ways to do a thing well – but that all of these schools are committed to their own version of alignment, coherence, and an ongoing commitment to finding tangible ways to live in, and co-create, a better world.
We have done our very best to bring that same seriousness, and that same commitment to coherence, to the pursuit of bringing Elevate into the world – and we look forward to sharing the completed work with you very soon!
